Web 2.0 The term Web 2.0 (see also Web 2, social networks, and tagging)
refers to a new generation of internet services geared to emphasize
collaborative information-sharing between thousands of individual online users.
Unlike traditional, static webpages, Web 2.0 services automatically update
pages according to what humans are doing in real time all over the world.
Web 2.0 actually uses the internet to involve online individuals in a
community of activity, rather than leaving them as isolated, individual
producers of single, monolithic websites.
In many Web 2.0 communities, an individual acquires a "profile," which may
include his/her photograph, location, and some taste in literature and
politics. The online community gives the individual information about
his/her friends, geographical community.
Possible Uses: Evangelism through Web 2.0?
Connecting with online communities may be an important means of evangelizing
young persons and urban communities. Online collaboration may also help
your base to become more involved; as individuals share their own photos,
podcasts, liturgies, and blogs with one another, they develop a personal
investment in your organization and its values.
